Free basic translation requires no registration and does not count toward AI usage. The browser sends only the text to translate and the target language directly to a basic translation service (currently Microsoft or Google, with automatic switching); it does not pass through YaoAI’s Cloudflare AI gateway or use conversation context, personal styles or your library. Free does not mean offline: network, regional and third-party service limits apply, and translation quality is basic. Failure never automatically calls paid AI. AI features retain the existing trial, usage-pack or unlocked own-key rules.
This policy applies to the YaoAI website, the YaoAI Whats browser extension, and related account access, device authorization, AI uses and developer APIs. YaoAI Whats is an independent product and is not affiliated with WhatsApp or Meta.
When you register, we store your email address, a display name generated from your email address, a secure password hash and account creation time. To manage device access, prevent repeated trial claims and protect the service, we process login sessions, hashed browser and device information, device names, order status, remaining uses and usage records, and record the registration IP address and the country code supplied by Cloudflare. The full registration IP is restricted to the admin console; user lists show only a masked value. We do not store plaintext passwords.
On public product, pricing, download, usage and contact pages, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand page views, scrolling and outbound-link clicks, along with usage data such as browser/device category and approximate region. Google processes this data for us, and GA4 email redaction is enabled. Do not put passwords, tokens or other sensitive information in public-page URL parameters. Analytics is not loaded on login, registration, dashboard or admin pages. See Google’s privacy information for details.
Product references, chat copies, personal styles and your own API keys stay on your device by default. For translation, replies or Q&A, only the messages, instructions and selected file excerpts needed for the task are processed; one question does not upload your whole library. The included AI service relays necessary content through YaoAI to the model provider. Your own API mode calls the provider you choose directly.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect account data. You can view your account, devices and orders in the dashboard. To correct or delete account-related information, use the dashboard or the contact channel used to obtain the product. Do not send passwords, full payment card numbers or API keys in ordinary messages.
